Veterans and Armed Forces Support

Veterans and Armed Forces Lunch Club

In early 2024, we actively signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and received funding through the Veterans Foundation to further support Veterans and the Armed Forces Community of Kirklees.

Working with Tommy’s Lounge in central Huddersfield, we host a weekly lunch club where anyone with lived experience of the Armed Forces can join us for a complementary lunch and drink. We will be there every Wednesday from 11am until 1pm, so anyone can simply drop in and leave when they wish to.

This is a great opportunity to meet others who may have similar experiences, whether you have served yourself or have family that have. Tommy’s Lounge is a safe space for those within the Armed Forces Community, having been established and now run by those from the community.

Veterans and Armed Forces Darts & Pool Club

In August 2026, we launched our Veterans Darts & Pool Club at Rack Café in Huddersfield, creating another welcoming space for members of the Armed Forces Community to connect, socialise and enjoy time together.

Taking place every Monday from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, the club offers free tea and coffee, along with free access to darts, pool and snooker. Whether you are a Veteran, serving member of the Armed Forces, reservist or family member, you are welcome to drop in, meet others with shared experiences and take part as much or as little as you wish.

The club provides a relaxed and inclusive environment where people can build new friendships, enjoy some friendly competition and access peer support within the Armed Forces Community.

The customers enjoy friendly banter as well as having access to advice, support, health checks and personal development opportunities with the foundation.
